Split

«Split» is one of my works completed during my studies in design at Berufsmaturität. The given overarching theme was ‚Absence.‘ I gradually delved into the subject of identity and prosopagnosia, which is the inability to recognize faces. I dissected existing faces into individual components and reassembled them into new compositions. Initially, I applied this technique to politicians and later extended it to the faces of my classmates.

The final outcome of this project aimed to make my fellow classmates no longer recognize the people they see every day at first glance. The identities of the individuals depicted became blurred. Only through careful and prolonged observation could one discern the individuals that contributed to the composite faces.
