Heads will roll

Why
Playing around with 3D scanning tools has always been my source of fun, igniting my interest in 3D design and animation. Naturally, I chose to kickstart this journey through my portfolio.

How
I began my exploration and quickly realized that, with my limited resources and skills, the most feasible approach involved my phone and Blender. Testing the process—from scanning a Coke can to importing it into Blender, tweaking objects, incorporating basic lighting, and crafting animations—I encountered an unexpected hurdle when transitioning to scanning a human. Unlike a static can, a human head moves subtly especially the eyes, prompting me to dive into hours of tutorials on rectifying texture paint and mesh issues.

Result
The entire journey was both thrilling and draining. The outcome: my head in the iconic ‹3D Sculptured› style, complete with personalized lighting and animations tailored for my website. A commendable start for my maiden voyage into Blender, albeit far from perfect. This endeavor served as an extensive learning experience in 3D sculpting and animation, motivating me to continuously refine my skills.
